Kitchen Layout Tips
Designing a Functional Kitchen: Avoid These Common Mistakes!
Choosing beautiful finishes and fixtures for your new kitchen is important, but getting the layout right is crucial for optimal functionality. Don't let these errors ruin your kitchen experience! Here are three common mistakes and how to fix them:
1. Insufficient Circulation Space: Cramped kitchens restrict movement and limit the number of people who can comfortably use the space. Open appliances become a challenge. Aim for at least 4 ft of space between kitchen countertops and even more for islands.
2. Inadequate Sink-Stove Distance: The sink and stove are key food prep areas, so ensure you have enough countertop space between them. Plan your kitchen with your day-to-day needs in mind, so you have no regrets later on.
3. Poor Lighting Placement: Don't work in the shadows! Prioritize both aesthetics and functionality by finding the perfect lighting setup. Position lights slightly in front of you rather than directly overhead for the best illumination.
