Who You Work With Matters
Who you choose to work with makes a huge difference when buying and selling real estate.
There are so many people we’ve met that mention their previous experiences with real estate agents - some good and some bad. The bottom line is, who you choose to represent the sale of your home is going to determine what price you get for it. There are so many factors that go into a successful sale - it might look like snapping some pictures with your iPhone, popping up a sign, and watching the offers come rolling in is all that's needed. And maybe that could happen, but I guarantee you will not be getting top dollar.
The sale of a home involves presenting it at his best to the most likely buyer. This will determine how much money you get for your house. A house has to be priced right, too high it will sit or get low-ball offers, too low you end up giving up cash for no reason. Marketing the listing so it gets maximum exposure is another key piece to the home selling process, as is negotiating. When getting multiple offers a well-versed REALTOR knows how to negotiate to get the best price and conditions. They can also handle many of the complex and time-consuming aspects of selling a home, such as handling paperwork, coordinating with other professionals, and looking over contracts to ensure that the process goes smoothly.
So yes, you could use a discount realtor, but you'll be less likely to get top-dollar. The old adage is true, you get what you pay for, so don't mess around with your biggest asset. Hire a great agent to represent you.
